INRC’s Mission, Vision and Values

A City of Connected Communities

INRC’s goal is to increase neighbor engagement throughout Indianapolis neighborhoods, to increase leadership skills in neighborhood leaders, and to increase community building activities in our neighborhoods.

INRC’s vision: We envision a city of connected communities where residents know their neighbors, and relationships are open and constructive. They’re locally sustainable, diverse in nature, and have a rich quality of life due to the collective gifts, talents, and dreams of the residents.

INRC’s mission statement: Through facilitation, training and coaching, INRC strengthens the capacity of neighborhood-based organizations and their neighbors to mobilize existing assets, support grassroots leadership, and foster collaboration.

INRC’s Values: In helping neighborhood leaders and residents create and sustain healthy neighborhoods, we value:

  • Asset-Based Community Development
  • Collaboration
  • Community Engagement
  • Developing talents
  • Empowering others
  • Inclusion and diversity

We work directly with neighborhood-based organizations throughout Marion County, including neighborhood associations, homeowners’ associations, community development corporations, faith-based organizations, service delivery agencies, and other not-for-profit groups.
